Yes, you can travel to Komodo Island. You will have to book a shared or private boat from Labuan Bajo to get to the entrance of the Komodo National Park. From there you will pay the fee and can enter the park with the assistance of a ranger.
How Much does it Cost to Visit Komodo?
As of 2022, visiting Komodo costs 150,000 RP (11 USD) per person. However, they are thinking about increasing the price up to $1,000 per person. So go now while you still can!
Is Komodo Worth Visiting?
Yes, Komodo is certainly worth visiting! If you love wildlife and would like to see the largest lizards on earth then Komodo Island is the perfect place to visit.
When my husband and I visited Komodo Island it was one of the highlights of our living in Bali for 6 months. We took a flight from Bali to Labuan Bajo and then did a 2-day boat tour of Komodo National Park. It was 1000% worth it and we can’t wait to do it again!
What is Included in Komodo National Park?
Komodo National Park encompasses three major islands; Komodo, Padar, and Rinca. Each of these islands has its own perks and different things to see.

Komodo Island is home to the Komodo dragon. Padar Island has a beautiful hike that gives you a view of the whole island and the surrounding islands. Rinca Island also has a large population of Komodo dragons as well as other wildlife.
There is also the ocean that is within Komodo National Park which has everything from whale sharks, ocean sunfish, manta rays, eagle rays, pygmy seahorse, false pipefish, clown frogfish, nudibranchs, blue-ringed octopus, sponges, tunicates, and coral.
How Many Days do You Need in Komodo Island?
You really only need one day on Komodo Island. This will give you all of the time that you need to visit the three major islands of Rinca, Padar, and Komodo. If you want to enjoy your time then you should allow yourself at least 2 full days.
Spending one night out on the ocean in a little boat is so much fun. You get to wake up to the beauty of these islands and perfect crystal clear water.
I hope that this post was helpful and that you were able to find a tour that fits all your needs!
